Analysts Believe Apple Won’t Include Lightning-to-Headphone Adapter With 2018 iPhones

Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis and his associates speculate that iPhones Apple will release this year may not come bundled with the Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter.

“We currently model no dongle this year,” the analysts predicted in a research note obtained by MacRumors today. If the prediction pans out, supplier Cirrus Logic, which builds DAC/ADC chips for the adapter, could lose orders from Apple.

For those keeping track, this isn’t the first time that Barclays has weighed in on this particular topic. Back in April of 2017, when we were still guessing about the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, the analysts predicted that Apple would keep the dongle with last year’s models, but suggested that it might be missing from inside the boxes of future iPhones as early as this year. So this latest analyst note merely echoes what they were modeling for last year.

So what do you think ?
