Can you run iOS 11?

With iOS 11 being announced many users probably thinking about updating their iOS devices and install iOS11 on it so they can enjoy the new features within the new software. But you maybe wondering if your device can run iOS 11 or not, right?

As it would appear, Apple is officially dropping support for 32-bit devices, which means the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c are out. The following 64-bit Apple devices are supported by iOS 11:

iPhone

  • iPhone 5s
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus

iPad

  • iPad mini 2
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad (5th generation)
  • iPad Air
  • iPad Air 2
  • 9.7-inch iPad Pro
  • 10.5-inch iPad Pro
  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st generation)
  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation)

iPod touch

  • iPod touch (6th generation)
That wraps things up for iOS 11 compatibility, and while the 32-bit iPhones might have been removed from the compatibility list, it looks like every other device that could run iOS 10 can now run iOS 11 as well. This is going to be great news for anyone with any 64-bit Apple mobile device who is interested in upgrading when the software update is released this Summer.
