Super Mario Run Release Date, Pricing and Gameplay Information

Nintendo is scheduled to debut Super Mario Run, its platformer optimized for one-handed gameplay, on the App Store on December 15. Ahead of this eagerly anticipated release, the Japanese gaming giant released a live-action commercial that’s all about speed.

A new ad features people from all walks of life running across scenic locations and in front of landmarks across the globe. The video features an upbeat tune and classic Super Mario notes and sound effects.

How Much Does It Cost?

The game is available for free on the App Store and you’ll be able to play all three modes (although they’ll be limited). But to unlock the entire game, you need to pay $9.99 in app purchase.

Which Devices Are Supported?

Super Mario Run supports both the iPhone and iPad. The game supports iPhone 5s and higher (iPhone 5 and 5c users are left out, just like iOS 10).

Will It Require An Internet Connection?

Sadly, yes. Even after the game is fully downloaded, you won’t be able to play the game unless you’re connected to an active internet connection. Nintendo says that this is to fight piracy.
