Siri Can Tell You More About ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ With Official Tie-In

It seems Apple has partnered with Universal Pictures to promote “The Secret Life of Pets” by updating Siri’s backend with a bunch of responses related to the animated movie. The company’s official iTunes USA Facebook page promotes Siri partnership with a nicely done teaser video.

Apple made the revelation via its iTunes Facebook page recently, indicating that it has added 15 preprogrammed responses to Siri that relate to the question, “What do my pets do when I’m not home?” They even launched a promo video to show off the feature, with plenty of Apple products, including the Apple TV and iPhone, thrown in there for good measure.

Siri provides more than two dozen humorous responses to the question “What do my pets do when I’m not home?”, including:
  • “Well, I don’t think those kibble zucchini muffins baked and ate themselves.”
  • “Do I look like I engage in inter-species espionage?”
  • “They ask me to play ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’ on Apple Music. Or ‘Cat’s in the Cradle’. Or ‘Free Bird’…”
“With fifteen different programmed responses, this is the first time Apple has collaborated on a home entertainment title and the first time Siri has been programmed to interact with an iTunes movie title,” said Universal Pictures.

Try it out now and tell us about your favorite responses in the comments.

This is Apple’s first official tie-in with a major film to date, and could be a sign of things to come. And this isn’t just an Apple-thing, either. Ahead of the launch of WB’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the next installment in the Harry Potter universe, Google went all-in with tie-ins for the film, including the ability to use phrases from the franchise to turn on/off the flashlight on an Android device, plus much more.
