Apple to Unveil New 10.1-Inch iPad Pro in 2017; Refresh Other iPad Pro Models

Japanese blog Mac Otakara has heard from reliable sources that Apple is gearing up to refresh its iPad lineup in Spring of 2017 with an updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro model, a new 10.1-inch model joining the lineup and a fifth-generation iPad mini, which should gained the ‘Pro’ moniker and be marketed by Apple simply as the 7.9-inch iPad mini Pro.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will get similar upgrades that will see it come with True Tone Display with DCI-P3 color gamut support, 12MP iSight camera, and quad microphones. The other two iPad Pro variants will also feature quad microphones. Unlike the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the new iPad Pro variants will continue to feature a 3.5mm audio jack.

KGI analyst Kuo has also predicted that Apple will be refreshing its iPad lineup in early 2017. He also predicts that the 9.7-inch iPad will see its display size being bumped but to 10.5-inches instead of 10.1-inches as Mac Otakara predicts. The tablet will make use of a new display technology that will make zooming, panning, and UI interactions smoother on it.
