Twitter for iOS Update brings Support for 3D Touch Peek and Pop Gestures

Although you couldn’t tell it by looking at official release notes for Twitter’s version 6.54 update, which make a passing mention of “a few minor updates that you didn’t even know you needed”, the app has finally gained additional 3D Touch goodies in the form of Peek and Pop previews within the app. Before today, Twitter for the iPhone and iPad only supported Quick Actions on the Home screen. Grab Twitter for iOS for free on the App Store.

Swiping up on a peek will provide you with quick access links to share the tweet, send a direct message, block, report a user, and more. The actions shown in the menu will vary depending on whether your are peeking into a tweet or a profile.

Tweetbot, another popular Twitter client for iOS, gained support for 3D Touch last year itself. Just like the official Twitter client, Tweetbot also supports 3D Touch in timeline for quick access to advanced functions.

For some reason though, Twitter does not mention about the addition of these new 3D Touch gestures in the change log of the app.

As I said, Twitter new update is available for free via the App Store.
