Leaked iPhone 7 Plus Components Hint at 256GB Storage Option

French leaker Steven Hemmerstoffer yesterday republished an image of some claimed iPhone 7 Plus components, found on Weibo. The photo appears to show an alleged dual-camera module said to be destined for the handset’s refresh, along with NAND flash chips which suggest that the iPhone 7 could include a new 256-gigabyte model.

The photo appears to show an alleged dual-camera module said to be destined for the handset’s refresh, along with NAND flash chips which suggest that the iPhone 7 could include a new 256-gigabyte model.

As for the dual camera module, one of the module seems to be optically stabilised, while the other one is not. It has long been rumored that Apple will be switching to a dual camera set up with the iPhone 7 Plus to offer better image quality, especially in low light. We have already seen many Android OEMs release phones with a dual camera set up at the rear, but none of them have managed to offer exceptional camera performance.

The leaked photos also show a 16GB NAND chip, which hints that Apple will continue to offer the base iPhone with 16GB of storage space. The Cupertino company has been consistently criticised for offering the base iPhone with only 16GB of storage space, but it looks like that is not going to stop it from offering the storage option.

The leaked photos were found on Weibo, so their credibility cannot be verified. However, previous rumors and reports have also pointed to the iPhone 7 Plus being offered in a 256GB variant. It is also well known now that the larger iPhone due to be unveiled in September will come with a dual camera set up at the rear.
