TaiG team to release update for TaiG Jailbreak tool to fix Cydia Substrate on iOS 8.3 today

When TaiG released its iOS 8.3 jailbreak early this morning, it was largely assumed that saurik would need to do something on his end to ensure compatibility with Cydia Substrate—the support framework used to run your favorite jailbreak tweaks.

Since the Cydia Substrate was developed by Jay Freeman aka saurik, the founder of Cydia, we had assumed that he will release the update. But he had later clarified that TaiG will need to update the jailbreak kernel patch to fix the issue with Cydia Substrate.

Cammy H of iDigitalTimes tweeted that TaiG team has informed her that they will be releasing an update for their TaiG jailbreak tool to fix the Cydia Substrate issue later today (Beijing Time [GMT+8]).

We also expect TaiG team to release a Cydia package for TaiG iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 Jailbreak so users who have already jailbroken their device using TaiG 2.0.0 jailbreak tool can fix the Cydia Substrate issue by installing the package, rather than needing to re-jailbreak their device.

As far as a time frame is concerned, no one knows for sure, but saurik seems to think it will be soon. I’m hoping it will be soon, as the jailbreak isn’t nearly as potent without all of the great jailbreak tweaks that we know and love.
