Apple to release iOS 8.4 at 8 AM PT on Tuesday; Beats 1 launch at 9 AM

The senior director of Apple Music and former Beats Music CEO, Ian Rogers, has revealed in a blogpost that iOS 8.4 will be released by Apple at 8 AM Pacific time on 30th June (i.e. this Tuesday).

Apple usually releases iOS updates at around 10 AM Pacific time, so this is two hours earlier than its usual schedule. The release of iOS 8.4 will be followed by the first program on Beats 1 — a 24 x 7 live radio station — going live an hour later.

Subscribing to Apple Music will set you back by $9.99 per month, but the first three months of the streaming service are completely free to use. Apple is also offering a family plan where up to six people can use Apple Music by paying only $14.99 per month. Apple Music is expected to have a catalog of over 30 million songs, including Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’, and will be available in over 100 countries.
