Some Apple Watch pre-orders with extended delivery dates see orders upgraded to ‘Preparing for Shipment’

Potentially good news today for folks looking at lengthy lead times on their Apple Watch pre-orders. Some customers with 4-6 week and June shipping estimates are reporting that Apple has charged them for their Watch purchases, and their order statuses have changed from ‘Processing Items’ to ‘Preparing for Shipment.’

Now, according to a report published by MacRumors and citing several different tips to the publication, some of those orders that saw extended wait times are seeing movement on their orders page. Positive movement, too. Those reports show that while the delivery date is still scheduled for the aforementioned times, it’s been upgraded from “Processing Items” to “Preparing for Shipment.” While Apple still has many of those orders as being delivered in 4-6 weeks or in June, the fact it’s been upgraded in status could indicate a sooner arrival time for those customers.

As made evident in the image above, though, it should be noted that it appears to be the Watch variants that are not Space Gray or Space Black. Indeed, while many orders are being processed by Apple right now, many pre-orders of the Space Gray Watch Sport or Space Black Watch are not seeing their orders upgraded just yet, and that seems to be the trend here, too.

Is your Apple Watch pre-order preparing for shipment now, or is your item still being processed?
