Apple TV gains three new channels: Tastemade, TED Talks and young Hollywood

Apple continues adding new content sources to its recently-discounted $69 set-top box at a relentless pace, with news Tuesday that Apple TV owners can now enjoy content from TED Talks, Tastemade and Young Hollywood on their TV sets.
TED Talks is a dedicated channel to show videos on various topics from the non-profit organisation, while Tastemade will have tastemakers from across the globe share their passion on good food and travelling. On the other hand, Young Hollywood is going to be your one-stop channel for interviews with your favorite celebrities, upcoming movies, TV shows and more.

Previously available in the form of audio and video podcasts on iTunes and on iPhones and iPads through the free iOS conference app in the App Store, TED Talks cover popular topics ranging from religion, science and technology to education and more.

A highly customized channel lets you browse content by category, access built-in playlists of Talks videos and more. The app also makes it easy to log in with your existing TED account to sync your viewing history across devices.

Tastemade is a premium food and travel channel with hundreds of episodes available for streaming. “The first 100 percent digital food and travel lifestyle network” also has a free iPhone and iPad app for enjoying its content on the go.

The update does not add the exclusive HBO Now channel to Apple TV, which the company had announced at its ‘Spring Forward’ event earlier this month.
