‘iPhone 6c’ gets imagined in 3D renders

We don’t know yet whether or not Apple will introduce an ‘iPhone 6c’ when a next-gen model debuts this fall but if it does, it might resemble these curiously looking mockups posted by 3DFuture.net.

The latest batch of 3D renders, this time from 3D Future, would like to put some focus on a device that hasn’t even been rumored as of yet: the iPhone 6c. As one can imagine, this would be a follow-up to the iPhone 5c, the plastic-backed and super colorful “cheap” option from Apple that launched alongside the iPhone 5s. Of course, the iPhone 5c wasn’t all that cheap, but it was colorful.

For what it’s worth, the prospect of refreshing its plastic handset with a fingerprint sensor, a bigger Retina HD screen, an improved eight-megapixel iSight camera and a speedy processor is certainly tantalizing.

In these new renders, the iPhone 6c looks like a mash-up between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 5c, even including a 4.7-inch display. The handset is obviously very colorful, and one would imagine that the back cover would be a plastic construction again. And while the renders aren’t based on any real, or even rumored, specifications, it is at least a nice look at what an iPhone 6c could look like.
If Apple were to ditch the unibody metal frame and give the handset a plastic treatment, I suppose all iPhone 6c models would feature black frontplate for a more seamless appearance.
Typically, Apple sells past two iPhone generations alongside current models. That being said, it’s going to be interesting seeing what happens to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus when a next-generation model debuts this fall.

So how do you like the concept ?
