Chase has activated more than 1 million Apple Pay accounts since its launch

Chase Bank has provisioned over one million wallets with Apple Pay since the service launched in October 2014. As noted by AppleInsider, the company made the announcement during an investors conference call on Tuesday.

“We continue to see good growth in the number of consumers that are provisioning Chase cards in their Apple Pay wallet,” said Chase’s Eileen Serra. “And as more merchants adopt, I would expect to see more traction here, as well.”

The bank also revealed that compared to its average customers, its Apple Pay customers were 9 years younger and earned 21% more money. They were also more likely to use their credit card for transactions over debit cards.

It has only been four months since Apple launched Apple Pay with the release of iOS 8.1 last year, and its popularity has been growing with every passing week. Apple has also been working on adding new partners to Apple Pay every month to further improve its traction.
