Apple selling refurbished units of iMac with 5k Retina display through its online store

If the thought of burning $2,500 on a brand spanking new iMac with Retina 5K display gives you sleepless nights and panic attacks, perhaps you wouldn’t mind getting a little used machine for less money? If so, Apple’s got you covered: the dream all-in-one with its unmatched industrial design and remarkably clear 27-inch screen is now available on the Refurbished Online Apple Store.

The cheapest of the them is the baseline 5k iMac that comes with a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive and an AMD R9 GPU. The retail price of this unit is $2,499, but you can get a refurb unit for $2,119 from Apple.

Should you need 16GB of RAM and 3TB Fusion drive, the price goes up to $2,419, or $430 off the original build-to-order price of $2,849. Another refurbished model swaps Fusion drive for 512GB of all-flash storage in exchange for $2,549, a saving of $450 (it has 16GB of RAM).

All three machines were released in October 2014 and feature a 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 chip and AMD’s Radeon R9 M290X graphics processor with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

All refurbished units from Apple come with 1-year of warranty and are tested thoroughly by the company.
