Ticketmaster adds Apple Pay support in the iOS app

Apple Pay is a growing element to Apple’s ecosystem, especially as adoption keeps rocketing upwards, and now one of the biggest names in event ticketing has adopted the mobile payments service.

Popular ticket sale and distribution company Ticketmaster updated its iOS client over the weekend, bringing it to version 1.7.1. The update brings about a handful of nominal improvements, and one major new feature: support for Apple Pay.

Users with an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 can now make purchases within the app quickly & securely with a single touch using Apple’s new mobile payment method. Buying tickets from Ticketmaster just got a whole lot easier.
“We work hard to deliver simple and secure ways for fans to purchase tickets to the events they love, and offering Apple Pay makes our industry-leading app the most convenient, flexible and secure way to buy,” said Jared Smith, president of Ticketmaster North America.“
Today has been a big day for Apple Pay adoption, as Disney World has just announced its own support for the mobile payments service, which will begin on December 24. The arrival of Apple Pay on either service is not all that surprising, though, considering both Walt Disney World and Ticketmaster have been labeled as “coming soon” for Apple Pay support since its unveiling earlier in 2014.
