5.5-inch iPhone 6 may feature a massive 2,915 mAh battery

Some new photos popped up online this evening, showing what are said to be components for the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6. The claim is significant, as unlike the 4.7-inch model, we’ve seen just a handful of parts belonging to the larger handset.

Japanese Mac blog Macotakara has published a photo which it claims is of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6′s battery.

The battery in the photo has the part number an Apple part number of 616-0675 and that it runs at 4.35 volts. It is however difficult to confirm the authenticity of the battery, but as MacRumors points out it does have the markings that are similar to Apple batteries, and also seems to be big enough to fit a 5.5-inch iPhone.

That being said, there are some discrepancies in the other parts shown in the photos. Below you’ll see a shot of an alleged display for the 5.5-inch iPhone, but some say it looks too similar to the 4.7-inch panels we’ve seen, making it hard to buy as a new part.
A 2,915 mAH battery would be significantly bigger than the iPhone 5s, which comes with a 1,570 mAh battery and the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is also rumored to come with a 1810 mAh or 2100 mAh battery. It does make sense when you consider that the larger iPhone 6 model will come with a 5.5-inch screen. It would still be smaller than the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which comes with a 3200 mAh battery, and 5.5-inch LG G3, which comes with a 3000 mAh battery.

Many details of the iPhone 6 have leaked over the past several months. The smartphone is expected to have an ultra-slim design with a sapphire crystal display, a 2 GHz or higher dual-core Apple A8 processor with 2 GB RAM, optical image stabilization and more.
