Apple Opens Second eBay Store With Pre-Owned iPhones

In November 2012, a little mini-store opened on eBay certified as little used Apple products that were compared to those found in Apple’s Store refurbished section.

However, this section has seen very little activity in terms of deals on iPad, MacBooks, iPhones and other Apple stuff. Yesterday, Apple has launched a new store again on eBay, and this time they are offering unlocked and certified GSM iPhone 5 units, starting at $449 and include free shipping.

The prices compare favorably to the iPhone 5c’s baseline $549 with 16 GB store. The store is called ‘Factory Outlet eBay Store’, and is not accompanied by Apple branding, even though the layout is similar to the previous store.

The products look as if they have been refurbished by Apple, having received burn-in testing. Also, the refurbished units on eBay come with a standard 1 year warranty and a new battery. Moreover, the phones have been repackaged professionally with final quality inspection performed by Apple.

By the way, Apple has never offered refurbished iPhones, indirectly or directly.
