Audi Will Add support for CarPlay in some models, launch expected in 2015

Back to March of 2014, Apple introduced CarPlay feature, one of the company's effort to connect you with your vehicle. Several automotive partners were initially unveiled at the announcement, and now another has chimed in with support.
Today Audi the huge car manufacture has just announced that its cars will support Apple’s CarPlay in future models, which are expected to launch in 2015. This integration will come through the Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI), which the manufacturer uses now with support from Google, including Google Maps for navigation. They’ll continue to offer support for Google, including their newly announced Android Auto. Audi, in their statement, said that CarPlay’s inclusion in future models was the result of intensive dialogue between Audi’s development lab in Silicon Valley and Apple.

Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG said:
“Our customers want to be ‘always on’ and use the services they know from their smartphones in cars as well. In this regard, we are working closely with leading companies like Google and Apple. In the future, customers will be able to use the functions available to them on their smartphones via the operating systems in their cars as well.“
We've seen many popular cars companies getting CarPlay feature in their cars like Mercedes, BMW, Dodge, Ferrari and more...
