Report: Apple Will Release Only A Single 4.7 Inch iPhone Model In Fall 2014

Steve Milunovich, analyst at USB, claims in a research note to investors that supply chin checks show Apple will only release a single iPhone in fall 2014, and it will feature a large screen. The iPhone 6 sales will start in the third quarter.

He predicts that the new iPhone will come with the in between display of 4.7 inches, instead of a large inch screen. It may perhaps be sold at a higher price that the current 4 inch iPhone 5s, which retails for a $199 subsidized price and $649 full price.
“… his “checks” of the supply chain suggest the next iPhone, an “iPhone 6” is most likely to come in August or September, rather than June, in two different models, one with a 4.7-inch screen, one with a 5.5-inch screen. He thinks the former, the smaller of the two, “seems certain,” but that the 5.5-inch model “may or may not launch at the same time and could be of the same resolution (lower pip), which would help app developers.”
But according to previous reports, Apple is working on two iPhone models featuring 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch display screen for a fall release. It may be 26% thin than the current iPhone 5s. This boils to measuring 5.59 mm (0.22 inches) thick vs. iPhone 5s 7.6mm (0.30 inches).

The new model may also include Ultra retina with 389 ppi an A8 chip 2.6 GHz. Foxconn and Pegatron are expected to start manufacturing the device in Q2, 2014.
