Simple Mode jailbreak tweak brings awesome spin on the lockscreen launcher

Lock screen launchers during the last few years have been quite generic. While there has been definitely an increase in the number available, but generally it is nothing original.

Simple Mode comes as a grateful breath of fresh air with its ingenious design and a meaningful entry in the launcher genre.

The best feature about the Simple Mode launcher is that it has a certain amount intelligence associated with it. The app learns the app usage pattern and then arranges the apps that are present on the lock screen automatically. Pretty smart, isn’t it?

Generic lock screen apps have the tweak setting in which you can select five apps as per your liking that would appear on the lock screen. It is a hassle since your app interest changes over a period of time. In this case, you don’t need to worry about that. Use the app normally and there is no need for tweaking. Simple mode would automatically populate the screen with app shortcuts which you have been using frequently.

There is also an option which allows you to open a designated app when you unlock your smartphone. While the option is available, there are some functionality issues which render its unavailability. Since this is the 1.0 release, updates and bug fixes are expected in the next version.

As far as the graphics of the app are concerned, they are in animation style that are positioned above the slide to unlock bar. It is easy on the eyes and gives off a nifty animation when you tap to unlock.

On account of the features that have been mentioned above, it is a pretty decent tweak to have in place of the standard lock screen launcher. As far as the bugs issue is concerned, the next version is bound to ease that out as well.

The app is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and can be had for $1.99.
