Hackers have been trying for a long time now to port Siri to non-Apple-Supported devices. They did manage to successfully port it, but the port was simply illegal to release to the masses bringing us all back to square one till developer Chpwn developed Spire as described, the first legal Siri port. We all got excited and ready to roll, but again it was too much work and the requirements were just no easy to get a hold of rendering most users bemused.

Today, we have an exciting story with this regard, looks like a guy managed to port Siri to his iPod Touch by restoring his iPod Touch from an iPhone 4S profile.

That`s how Gordon explains it, he says that he recently purchased a late-model white iPod Touch and instead of setting it up as a new device, he went with restoring it from an iCloud backup made for his iPhone 4S.

When the installation was complete, the entire Siri interface has been installed. He didn’t manage to connect it to Apple`s servers just yet, but according to him the Dictation is working great.

We must advise you though that restoring a device from another`s backups is quite dangerous,the kind of dangerous that would render your device a useless piece of shiny metal.

Whether the whole story is true or fake is yet to be determined. it`s intriguing, though.
